Play written by School of Communications student to be performed in New York City March 20

“Circumstance,” a play written by Christina Nugent, a film, video and interactive media major in the School of Communications, will be performed at the Abingdon Theatre in New York City at 6:30 and 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 20.

The play is part of the theater’s monthly Benefit Challenge Series, which showcases 10-minute plays by various playwrights in the New York City area.

In the play, a young married couple finds a laptop bag upon arrival in their hotel room.

After opening the laptop, they discover an incriminating photo of a famous prince, who they have heard is staying at the same hotel.

The couple begins a rather heated debate over whether or not to sell the photograph to a tabloid. The play focuses on gossip, the theme of this month’s Benefit Challenge Series.
