Wal-Mart, Target, Sears and Toys R Us are among the U.S. retail stores who have announced plans to open on Thanksgiving night, drawing harsh criticism from store workers who want the stores to remain closed until early Friday.
“The start of the post-Thanksgiving holiday sales creeping up earlier and earlier each year is causing conflict for the employees,” Cadden said. “Opening on Thanksgiving destroys peoples’ holidays. This year, we’re seeing more and more pushback from employees. They’re saying, ‘Enough is enough.”
To speak to Cadden on Wednesday, Nov. 21 or Friday, Nov. 23, please call John Morgan, associate vice president for public relations, at 203-206-4449.
