Senior awarded Critical Language Scholarship from U.S. Department of State

mark-firmaniMark Firmani, a senior in the College of Arts and Sciences at Quinnipiac University, has been awarded Critical Language Scholarship (CLS) to undertake intensive study of Arabic from June-August 2013 in Rabat, Morocco.

This prestigious and highly competitive scholarship, which is awarded by the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs of the U.S. Department of State, is part of the U.S. government’s effort to expand the number of Americans studying and mastering critical foreign languages.

“I look forward to living in a Middle Eastern country, working with the people, learning the language and the nuances of culture, and returning to the United States to share what I have experienced,” Firmani said.
