Daniel O’Connell appointed director of analytics for Quinnipiac University Online

O'Connell, DanielDaniel O’Connell has been appointed director of analytics for Quinnipiac University Online, which delivers Quinnipiac University‘s online academic programs.

In his new position, O’Connell is responsible for performing analytics of data and business intelligence for QU Online.

“My hope is to bring a deep and intrinsic level of analytics and business intelligence, processes and governance to QU Online,” O’Connell said. “I want to assist the organization in identifying areas of opportunity, reduce risk and increase effectiveness and efficiency.”

QU Online offers two online bachelor degree completion programs including a bachelor of science in nursing and bachelor of science in health science studies. Additionally, the university offers six online graduate programs including a master of business administrationmaster of science in organizational leadershipmaster of science in information technologymaster of science in interactive media and master of science in teacher leadership and doctorate in occupational therapy.  The university also offers several options for social media training including a social media boot camp certificate program and an advanced graduate certificate in social media as well as customized corporate training in social media.

Before coming to Quinnipiac, O’Connell worked at Yale University, where he was associate director of business intelligence and reporting services.

O’Connell holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Eastern Connecticut State University. He also earned a professional certificate in advanced computer security from Stanford University. He is a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, Aircraft Owners and Pilots Organization, Higher Education Data Warehouse Group, Armed Forces Communication and Electronics Association and Association of Former Intelligence Officers.
