News of the opening of our Frank H. Netter MD School of Medicine reported extensively

The Frank H. Netter MD School of Medicine at Quinnipiac University was featured in numerous media organizations across the country as it prepared for its first day of classes on Aug. 19.

The following news organizations reported on the medical school’s opening:

  • The Associated Press, which published a story on the first day of classes that was distributed by news organizations across the country, including on boston.com
  • The Connecticut Mirror, which covered the void in health care that the university hopes to fill
  • The Connecticut Post, which focused on a Westport student. The story also appeared in the Danbury News-Times, Stamford Advocate and Greenwich Time.
  • Forbes, which reported on how the school is changing medical education
  • FOX Connecticut, which broadcast live reports throughout the Aug. 16 White Coat Ceremony
  • Irish America magazine, which highlighted the state-of-the-art facility
  • NBC Connecticut, which aired live reports  and interviews with the founding dean and students from 5 to 7 a.m. on the morning of the opening
  • The New Haven Register, which covered both the white coat ceremony and the first day of classes
  • News 8, the Connecticut ABC affiliate, spoke with members of the university community about the school
  • WATR-AM, which aired an interview with the founding dean about the clinical affiliation with Waterbury Hospital
  • WQUN-AM, which aired a week-long series of interviews with administrators, faculty and staff
  • WTIC-AM, which aired an interview with the founding dean about the opening
