Norbert Herzog, professor of medical sciences in the Frank H. Netter MD School of Medicine at Quinnipiac University, and David Niesel, a Quinnipiac alumnus, discussed the top 10 leading causes of death in the United States in “Medical Discovery News.”

According to their weekly newspaper column and radio show, the top three leading causes are:

3. Chronic lower respiratory diseases, many related to smoking

2. Cancer
