Professor Rich Hanley: New iOS 7 security features will benefit consumers

hanleyRich Hanley, associate professor and director of the graduate journalism program in the School of Communications at Quinnipiac University, was featured in an NBC Connecticut segment about Apple’s new  iOS7 security features and how they could benefit consumers.

“You can erase your data remotely if you recognize your phone has been stolen, you can erase it and you can lock it and the thief can’t do anything with it,” Hanley said.

Hanley told the NBC affiliate that the lock will complicate a thief’s attempt to steal data or to use a stolen phone.

“This is a key security feature that will, I think, mitigate some of the iPhone thefts,” Hanley said.
