Professor Victoria Richards

Victoria Richards, assistant professor of medical sciences in the Frank H. Netter MD School of Medicine at Quinnipiac University, is available to discuss the chemical agent that led to the overdose of several people at a rave party at Quassy Amusement Park on Sept. 21.

“2CP is a designer amphetamine; the name refers to the chemical structure,” said Richards. “As with these types of illicit psychoactive drugs, there is very little toxicological data, but many drugs of this type can affect brain metabolism which can lead to dangerous increases in temperature.”

To speak to Richards, please call John Morgan, associate vice president for public relations, at 203-206-4449.
