Professor Dana White

Dana White, clinical assistant professor of athletic training and sports medicine in the School of Health Sciences at Quinnipiac University, who specializes in nutrition, is available to discuss candy alternatives.

“My advice is to stay away from extra chewy and sour candies. They’re so bad for teeth! I try to give out treats that have some sense of nutrition in mind, but are still festive. I make sure to have options for little ones with food allergies as well. My recommendations: dark chocolate, small lollipops, chocolate-covered peanuts, dried fruit and yogurt-dipped pretzels. I also have a few homemade candy recipes,” said White.

To schedule an interview with White, please call John Morgan, associate vice president for public relations, at 203-206-4449 (cell).
