Professor John Thomas: New funding initiative to give more people access to mental health services

Professor John Thomas

Vice President Joe Biden will announce that $100 million will be freed to increase access to mental health services and improve mental health facilities, according to an unnamed White House official.

John Thomas, a professor in the School of Law at Quinnipiac University, is available to comment on the topic.

“Combined with the Affordable Care Act’s equal treatment of mental health care and physical health care, this new funding initiative is an important step in President Obama’s commitment to making ‘access to mental health care as easy as access to a gun,’ ” said Thomas.

To schedule an interview with Thomas, please call John Morgan, associate vice president for public relations, at 203-206-4449 (cell).
