Professor: CVS’ decision to stop selling tobacco products may prevent young people from lighting up

Angela Mattie, associate professor of management and chair of health care management and organizational leadership at Quinnipiac University, said although CVS’ decision to stop selling tobacco products by October may not be enough to cause smokers to quit, she believes it may prevent young people from lighting their first cigarette.

“I would hope that we would see more companies taking these kinds of steps to send the message that smoking kills,” she told the Hartford Courant.
