Senior Success Story – Morey Hershgordon, QU ’17

Morey traveled to Wisconsin to meet his boss and check out the station and city — and to sit a while on the WAOW-TV/Channel 9 anchor desk.

The Class of ’17 is just a few weeks from taking on the real world and already we know one member who is heading west with new diploma in hand.

Morey Hershgordon is packing up his broadcast journalism degree and reporting for work June 7th at the ABC station in Wausau, Wisconsin. There, he will be a sports reporter and anchor covering the Green Bay Packers (NFL), Milwaukee Brewers (MLB) Milwaukee Bucks (NBA), and University of Wisconsin football and basketball teams (Go Badgers!).

Morey has done a number of internships during his QU years including two at FOX29/Philadelphia, one in news and one in sports. He has also had plenty of experience covering Bobcat sports, including travel to Florida last year for the men’s hockey Frozen Four action and just last month to California to cover the women’s basketball Sweet 16 appearance.

“Quinnipiac provided me the opportunity to have hands-on experience from day one, freshman year,” Morey remembers. “My first week on campus I was the color-commentator for the men’s soccer match against Loyola-Maryland and wrote an article on field hockey for QBSN,” he says.

Watch for Morey as he tries to make a big enough splash in Wisconsin to make appearances on stations from coast to coast.
